Beta Testing Mobile Apps and Products
ErliBird– Offers $10 and up for feedback for iOS, Android, websites, and tech products. May receive 0–5 test per month.
Userlytics — Pays out $5–20 for testing on mobile devices. A simple platform for user testing of mobile apps, display ads, videos, etc.
Beta Bound — Offers incentives for testers such as free products and gift cards.
Beta Family — Has a community of over 50,000, and offers rewards for iOS/Android app testing. Not every test offers compensation so be sure to check the details before signing up for them.
Paid Online Surveys
ShopTracker — Get paid to share your opinion on consumer products with The Harris Poll and rewards (they’re mostly gift cards). Sign up here and receive $3. Surveys are pretty short and iOS/Android accessible.
Toluna — Offers points to participate in surveys and you can redeem these points for various credits, vouchers, and rewards. Get 500 points just for signing up.
SurveyJunkie — Pays $5 and up for online surveys product sampling.
National Consumer Panel ( NCP) — Receive rewards and free electronics for scanning barcodes on household items. (You’ll receive the scanner for free via mail.)
Ipsos I-Say — Test products for big brands including clothing retailers and sporting goods suppliers. They pay via points which are redeemable for awards.
Valued Opinions — Offers rewards for completed surveys by top brands.
Mindspay — Pays $3-$75 for online surveys as well as .25 cents for just reading emails. Issues payouts twice a month, and is actually a good source for “spending money”. Registration is free and includes a $3 a just for signing up.
Survey Spot — Offers payments of $5 to over $100 and rewards (gift cards mostly) for online surveys and product testing. Most items are beauty and household-related products.

ACD Direct– Pays by the minute for outbound calling to Independent Business Owners (IBOs). 1–800 Flowers– Offers customer phone and chat support jobs. Work comes in seasonally.
Data Entry Jobs
SmartCrowd(previously known as VirtualBee) — Pays for completing online data entry projects. Pay per project varies but averages around $5/hr. Don’t bother applying if you’re not an accurate and fast typist though, if not you’ll take forever to complete the tasks and won’t make much money.
Great American Opportunities– Offers sales, coaching, and educational opportunities. Must have a college degree.
Xerox– Xerox is a huge company and their Virtual Office Program always has a variety of positions available in Sales, IT, Quality Control, Support, etc. The pay is good and benefits are included.
SigTrack– Sigtrack offers data entry positions come voting registration season. You must be a fast and accurate typist to make money here.
Amazon’s Mechanical Turk — Hires for a range of small online tasks where human intelligence is needed.
TDEC — TDEC occasionally hires for data entry positions. Positions are full-time plus benefits.
Microworkers– Pays for complete tasks such as downloading phone apps, taking surveys, watching vids, etc. Pay varies but you can make spending money for the month-not a good supplement for a full or part-time gig though.
Clickworker– Similar to Microworkers. Pays you to complete small tasks, but tasks include online research, data entry, writing, etc. Pays every week.
Brainfuse — For higher education tutors with a Masters degree. Must have experience and pass background check. Thorough hiring process.
Tutor.com — Reputable company that offers tutoring work for grade and high school subjects. Must past subject exam, mock session, and background check. Set your own hours.
Tutor ABC (formerly iTutor) — Large company that provides legit tutoring opportunities for everything under the sun (school/business/IT). Must have TESOL/TEFL Certification. Set your own hours. Pay is via wire transfer.
Proofreadingservices.com — Offers ESL Tutoring jobs (and proofreading jobs). Full-time and part-time opportunities and you may choose your own hours. Must past online assessment (20 minutes). Pay varies per job.
Aim-for-A Tutoring — Tutor in a variety of subjects for elementary, high school, and college-level subjects. Must have bachelors.
LearnLight (I Speak U Speak) — Get paid to teach languages and a variety of business skills globally 24/7.
Kaplan -Kaplan is a renowned test prep organization and occasionally has virtual positions available. Jobs are full time with good benefits.
Call Center QA — Regularly has openings for phone mystery shoppers. Pays $5 to complete 5–10 minute call and leave feedback. The payout is within 7 days.
Intelichek -Hires mystery shoppers on a contract basis to do phone shops. Most make about $9–14/hr depending on what the call requires. Have to be able to work at least 10 hrs per week.
Perception Strategies — Indiana-based company that doe phone shops for healthcare institutions. Pays around $10–12 per shop and you need to give detailed feedback in your report (note: Be sure to ask what they’re looking for exactly).
Yardi Matrix– Hires for rent survey contractors seasonally (Spring/Fall are the busiest). Surveyors are paid $6 per hour plus completion rates of 50 or 60 cents. Surveyors have to do 75 phone surveys a week minimum.
Maritz Research– A long-time provider of in-person mystery shop opportunities. Must have auto insurance to apply. Pays anywhere from $5–50 for a shop. Great opportunities if you live in a big city.
Mobee — Offers in-person secret shops to locals. Pay is via points which can be redeemed. Points arrive 48 hours after shop is completed. Must have a smartphone.
Easy Shift– Pays locals to perform in-person shops at restaurants and businesses. Must have smartphone. (takes 48 hrs to receive payment via Paypal after shop).
Transcription and Typing Jobs
Net Transcripts -Hires for transcriptionists for content on criminal matters (plus if you’re bilingual). Background check and assessment must be done before getting hired.
Quicktate — Hires contractors to transcribe things like voicemail messages, memos, letters, legal files, medical files. Background check required. ($15-you pay).
REV — Hires contractors for transcriptionists, captioner, and translation work. Pays weekly via Paypal. Transcriptionists and Captioners rates start at .40 and per audio minute. Translators earn .05 and up to per word.
Scribie — Great opportunity if you have the extra time and typing skills. Pays $5–25 per audio hour. Set your own hours and get paid bi-weekly via Paypal. Must take assessment before being approved.
SpeakWrite — Hires for transcriptionists and typists (transcriptionists must purchase foot pedal). Competitive pay rates. Most clients are from legal, government and law enforcement entities. Must type 60WPM with 90% accuracy and pass background check.
Tigerfish — Hires mostly for experienced transcriptionists. Must purchase Start/Stop transcription software for $229. Applications accepted via email only.
Transcribe.com — Pays daily for transcriptionists and transcription editing work. Must complete assessment before getting hired as a contractor. Also, Express Scribe transcription software and a foot pedal controller are highly recommended.
Appen Butler — Has various positions open in the U.S. for transcriptionists, social media evaluators, linguists, etc. Pay varies per job description.
Pacific Interpreters — Hires contractor translators for document translation, editing and proofreading.
Responsive Translation — ISO-certified company based in New Jersey that routinely hires for language translators for.
Crowd Content — Has freelance work available, though not always consistent. Pay is bi-weekly and you must apply for each project. Projects include writing product descriptions, articles, and editing. Most projects pay around .02-.06 cent per word and depends on your writing level. Be sure to pay attention to the project style guides before submitting work or prepare to hear back from the editors. One of the best sites for making extra money, as some projects can become pretty consistent.
Constant Content — Write about basically anything and set your own fees for your work-if someone buys it, you get paid. CC takes 35% when your articles sales so be sure to set your fees accordingly. You have to complete a writing quiz and submit a sample to apply. Pays on the 1st and 15th, but it takes the editors 3–7 days to review your work before they add it to the catalogs-so write fast!
Blogmutt — Blogmutt always has work available for writers. Application process requires a grammar/plagiarism test and writing sample.
Writers Access — Has a thorough application process in which you must fill out a profile fully in order to get work. May have to compete with tenured writers on the platform for assignments but pay is decent. Pays monthly.
BKA Content — NY-based company that hires for freelance writers for web content and product descriptions. Pay is good and projects range from a variety of clients. Must write at least 2k words per week. There’s a 15-minute grammar assessment that you must past (80% or above) and after you have to submit writing samples. Pays every two weeks via Paypal.
Textbroker — Hires freelance writers for all types of writing projects-mostly articles though. Pay can be as low as .01 per word for new writers (must take skills assessment) and upwards of .05 per word if you get a higher rating. It may take weeks to receive higher rating. Must submit short writing sample.
